In the past century, tiger populations have dropped dramatically, because of human activity, and killing of these beautiful animals. Tigers are poached for specimens, and even food. Additionally, prey loss leads to the death of many tigers, since they die of starvation. In conclusion, India chose the tiger as their national animal, because it represents their striving efforts to prevent this animal from extinction.
